Here’s Our List of UCF Baseball Head Coach Candidates

Summer 2023 will be a time of transition for the UCF Knights Baseball team.

Not only will the Knights transition from the American Athletic Conference to the Big 12 on July 1, but with Greg Lovelady’s dismissal Saturday, they will have to hire a new head coach for just the third time in the last 40 years as well.

Here’s a look at some possible candidates that Athletic Director Terry Mohajir could call upon to take over the program, based largely on our own informed speculation:

We Will Never See Another McKenna Melville

If everything had gone according to plan, McKenna Melville might never have recorded a single kill at UCF.

The story is now legendary: She was recruited as a defensive specialist out of Eagan High School in Minnesota, where she played for her mother Kathy Gillen, the all-time winningest high school volleyball coach in the history of the state of Minnesota. She won two state titles, was named Gatorade State Player of the Year, and was an All-American for her club team. She was also pretty good a

Ten Candidates for UCF Offensive Coordinator (Plus One QB Coach)

The UCF Knights will have to find a new offensive coordinator and QB Coach yet again this year after Chip Lindsey was hired away by North Carolina to the same positions.

With a coaching tree as large as Head Coach Gus Malzahn’s is, there are a number of names in his Rolodex that he could call.

So, here is our list of potential names:

Back in 2021, Harris was hired by UCF to be the running back coach and the Co-Offensive Coordinator to G.J. Kinne. While Harris Jr. kept the “Co-OC” title after

Five Biggest Questions for 2022: How Will the Linebackers Hold up?

It’s our last full week without UCF Knights football, and as we continue to preview the Knights for 2022, we give you our Five Biggest Questions facing the Knights heading into the season.

We continue by looking at the position group that had the most amount of turnover this offseason: the linebackers.

Two of the team’s leading tacklers, Bryson Armstrong and Tatum Bethune, have moved on along with a majority of the depth behind them. Only three of the 12 linebackers listed on the roster were K

2022 Football Position Preview: Linebackers

Between graduating seniors and outgoing transfers, it would be easier to name the UCF Knights linebackers that stayed with the team.

While the majority of production lost at the position comes with the graduation of Bryson Armstrong and the departure of Tatum Bethune to Florida State, several others also took the opportunity to enter the transfer portal or exhausted their final year of eligibility.

2022 Football Position Preview: Tight Ends

The return of the tight end as a prominent part of UCF Knights’ passing attack could soon be nigh.

Since the departure of Michael Colubiale after the 2018 season, no Knights tight end has eclipsed 200 receiving yards in 2021.

As the old saying goes: If you can’t beat them, join them.

This is what Kemore Gamble did back in Janu

It’s been two months since the UCF Knights’ athletic program announced it was joining the Big 12. Negotiations are ongoing for official entry into that league. But whether that happens in 2023, 2024, or tomorrow, there is one loose end that keeps the Knights involved in the conference realignment chaos: Men’s Soccer.

UCF is the only one of the four newest Big 12 schools that has men’s soccer, and the Big 12 does not sponsor the sport. So, Athletic Director Terry Mohajir and University President
