Thanks to taking two of three games in their home series against Oklahoma State two weeks ago and on the road against Kansas last weekend, the Knights have now brought their conference play record to 4-5, tied with five other schools for seventh in the conference standings.

Not only will the Knights transition from the American Athletic Conference to the Big 12 on July 1, but with Greg Lovelady’s dismissal Saturday, they will have to hire a new head coach for just the third time in the last 40 years as well.
Here’s a look at some possible candidates that Athletic Director Terry Mohajir could call upon to take over the program, based largely on our own informed speculation:

Which Conference Will UCF Men’s Soccer Call Home?
It’s been two months since the UCF Knights’ athletic program announced it was joining the Big 12. Negotiations are ongoing for official entry into that league. But whether that happens in 2023, 2024, or tomorrow, there is one loose end that keeps the Knights involved in the conference realignment chaos: Men’s Soccer.
